Although this SPG doesn't impact faculty directly, it is important to look at it from the perspective of a college employee.

Here are my comments and edits:

page 2, Position Description, last sentence: no hyphen needed: "develop-performance standards" should be "develop performance standards"

page 3, Job Evaluation, first sentence: split infinitive "is a process used to systematically assess" should be "used to assess systematically"

page 3, Position Study, first sentence, hyphen needed "level of decision making authority" should be "level of decision-making authority"

page 3-4, Cyclical Review, 1-3: seems like item 1 should be item 3 and items 2 & 3 should be 1 & 2. The current item 1 instructs employees to participate and use the "review form" and current items 2 & 3 say who is in charge, who will participate, and define what the "review form" is. I think it is more clear if the order is changed.

page 4, item 4, last sentence: split infinitive and no comma needed "qualifications, to accurately capture" should be "qualifications to capture accurately"

page 4, item 5: What are "desk audits"? Shouldn't this be defined?

page 4, item 6: This sentence is unclear: "Members of the job evaluation committee, who are selected by the Chancellor, will reflect the campus/district office diverse job representation." What is "diverse job representation"? Who determines what it is? Is this committee formed AFTER the steps 1-5 are completed or is the committee involved in steps 1-5? Is the "job evaluation committee" a Standing Committee? an Ad Hoc committee? ???

Page 5, item 3 a, grammar error: "i.e." should be "i.e.,"

Page 5, item 3 a, the "at least 20 percent" is ambiguous. Does it apply to both permanent and substantial change for a combined total change of 20 percent or does it apply individually—20 percent permanent change and 20 percent substantial change?

Page 5, item 3 a, who determines this 20 percent change? The employee and supervisor need to know this, because they can't request the individual position review unless there has been a 20 percent change? Or does the individual position review DETERMINE if there has been the 20 percent change? This is confusing.

Page 5, item 3 b, "At least two years have elapsed" is correct

Page 5, item 3, Note: sentence construction is awkward; change "as a result of a Chancellor approved reorganization or Chancellor approved restructuring of the work unit." to "as a result of reorganization or restructuring of the work unit that has been approved by the Chancellor."

Page 5, item 4, 2nd sentence, split infinitive: "Failure to fully complete all" should be "Failure to complete fully"

Page 5, item 5, first sentence, hyphen not needed: "and will discuss-with the" should be "and will discuss with the"

Page 6, item 6, end of last sentence, awkward sentence construction; change "with the reason for the non- support stated in writing." to "with the reason for not supporting the request stated in writing."

Page 6, item 7, is a "desk audit study" the same as page 4, item 5 "desk audit"? If they are the same, this is inconsistent.

Page 7, items 14 and 15, because the results of this process may result in the employee being paid more or less money, it seems important that there be a time line for the administrator to inform the employee. "14. Upon accepting the results, the administrator will inform the employee within 5 working days."
